Did I mention we're moving???

That's right folks, we're heading out! We packed up last week.....

....rented a trailer from a company that will drive our stuff across the country for us (YAY... we don't have to drive a U-haul across 8 states!! Thanks Jon for the suggestion.).....

...Loaded it up and packed it in tight with the help of Steve's brother, Adam (Thanks a ton, Bun!)...

...The trailer was picked up on Tuesday and now here we are..... less than 2 days 'til we hit the road! CRAZY!!! Ohio here we come!

Weekend Fun

Last weekend was an eventful and fun-filled one for us!

Saturday night we had a sort of farewell barbeque with Steve's buddies-- Jared Hiatt, Jacob Mifflin, Jesse Hansen, and Ben Toller (brother)-- and their wives/kids. These guys have all been buddies for many years, but we aren't able to get together very often. Maybe two or three times a year! But, we wanted to get together at least one more time before we move out to Ohio. So, we fired up the grill, had some good laughs, pulled out "Rock Band" and had a grand ol' time!

Sunday, my little neice Kahri was blessed. My sister and her fam are out here from Switzerland and it was fun to get together with everyone. And Kahri, of course, is just so dang cute!

Most years, to kick off the summer, we have a campout in my parents' back yard-- Tiki Lamps and all! Friday night was the night we had planned for our Camp Out. Unfortunately my little brother Daniel was sick and throwing up Thursday night, so we canceled. Good thing we did, too, because Friday night my older brother Chris and my Mom both got the same thing!
Anyway, we ended up doing it Sunday night instead.
It was a fun night filled with "Hawaain" haystacks, homemade coconut ice cream, steel drum music played on the Sponge Bob boom box, tiki lamps, and plenty of flaming 'mallows!!!!

Fess up... who did it????

So, I got in my car today, turned on my car, and looked up to start driving.... and this was the view that greeted me.....No, it's not a beautiful design created by the rain (although that is what I thought it was at first). It is a very cracked windshield.....

And this was found nearby.....

Somebody must really like me : )
So, I send out a hearty thank you to whoever left me this wonderful gift!

Whoops....

So, my sister in law Tagged me back in... oh... maybe February. Yet, though I filled in my answers, I never did post my answers to the tag. If I remember correctly, I got tagged for about 3 different things within 2 days, and thought it would be boring to post 3 tags in a row! So, now I'm finally whipping it out. Here it is:

ABCs About Me

A- Attached or single: Quite Attatched

(No, we didn't get married in the San Diego Temple...just visited there Spring of 2007. Holy Cow, I forgot how long my hair was!)

B- Best Friend: After my husband comes my mom and my sister Megan.

(Riding the train in Switzerland)

C-Cake or Pie: Pie for sure. Steve hates cake. In fact, we didn't even have a wedding cake, so HA! How's that for untraditional?

D- Day of Choice: Ya ever noticed that when you don’t go to school and don’t work a Monday to Friday job….. All the days seem pretty much alike besides Sunday?

E- Essential Item: My Brain.... when I don't have it with me, nothing seems to go right.

F- Favorite Color:

(No, I'm not trying to make some sort of statement here... I just like the color)

G- Gummi Bears or Worms: Sour Worms

H- Hometown: Is your hometown the town you were born in? If so, I guess it would be Idaho Falls. Even though I don’t ever remember living there. I grew up in Idaho, Utah, Illinois, Japan, Idaho again, and now I've been in Utah for about 12 years.

I- Indulgence(s): Sushi and other delicious but expensive foods…. I don’t indulge very often, unless my Dad is paying : ) Thanks Dad.

K-Kids: I like kids....

L-Life is incomplete without: Death. Sad, but true.

M- Marriage Year: 2005

N- Number of Siblings: 1 sister and 3 brothers

(Hahaha... very old family picture. Sadly it's the most recent we've got. But, we're getting a new picture taken next week with our 5 new additions to the family!)

(Picture I took in Rome... who'd have thought I'd find an orange tree in the middle of old Rome?)

R- Reason To Smile: My husband is incredibly smart,, got accepted to medical school, and I am about to start a new adventure in my life! Oh, and I should get my braces of soon… I’ll smile a ton then!

S- Season: Spring…. New life, new beginnings, warmth on its way….

T- Tag Six: I think most people have already done this… if you haven’t, and you want to… go for it!

Home Sweet Home... for the next 4 years!

Well, with MUCH help from some wonderful people out in Toledo, we have found a place to live! We will be spending the next 4 years of our lives living in this cute duplex. We will be on the bottom level, and our new friends Jake and Jenny will be upstairs (for the next year, until he finishes up his last year of med school). They are in our future ward out there, and we are excited to join them!
They sent me these great pictures of the duplex and the areas near by. Hope you guys don't mind me using your pictures on here.... do I need to get the copyright from you or something...??? ; ) We will be a few blocks from the Maumee River and Walbridge Park. Never heard of those before... but they sure are pretty!!!
Perty, ain't it???
We will be a mile from the zoo.
We will also be about a mile from Steve's real home for the next four years-- University of Toledo College of Medicine.
Well, it is starting to feel more real now.... I think we really are moving to Ohio!!!

Update

Just thought I'd update you all on all the things that have happened so quickly in the past week!

First of all-- the results from my scope. The doctor didn't find anything to worry about, so that's good. We didn't really think we'd find anything. Just being thorough and checking that off our list before we try to get pregnant again. He did say, though, that I am not ovulating regularly (can I say "ovulating" on a blog???hehe) and suggested I take Clomed..... which I'm not sure why, considering that I haven't ever had any trouble getting pregnant. Perhaps I'll pop out some twins or something........

Moving on....... thank you all for your kind words and congratulations on Steve's great accomplishment of getting in to medical school. We are very excited. We have been waiting (not so patiently on my part) with great anxiety to find out whether or not we'd be heading off to medical school this summer or not. And now we are finally accepted and everything seems to be falling into place so quickly!

Now brace yourselves all you fellow Utahns......
It is decided-- we will be moving to Ohio.....THE LAST WEEK OF JUNE!!!! That doesn't give us a whole lot of time, but we feel like we need to get out there and start getting settled into life there.

We have been blessed to have so many wonderful people ALREADY befriending us out there in Ohio, and we're not even there yet. I just have to say what a wonderful thing it is to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Of course the gospel itself is such an anchor in our lives. But it's not only that.... the members, the wards, the way things are organized. We have already had several people in the ward e-mail us or comment on our blog-- all of them welcoming us already and offering us help in any way.

It all started when Steve went out there for his interview back in March. They offer what they call a MedStay program where med students let you stay at their house while you are out there for your interview. Most people that were on the list were not going to be around when Steve went out there because it was their spring break. But, some gave him names of other people they thought might be around and might be willing to let him stay. Eventually, he contacted Steven and Sherri Zeimer who happened to be members of the ward out there and they were nice enough to let him go and stay with them. Before Steve went out to Ohio, I was looking at Steven and Sherri's blog to see who they were. To make a longer story shorter (maybe), I happened to make a connection! Sherri is the sister of Jon, who is the husband of Whitney, who is the sister of Cassidy, who is married to my brother Chris! Okay that sounds confusing....... lets just say, Steven Zeimer and my husband Steve are both married to girls whose brothers are married to one of the Kremin sisters (Cassidy and Whitney). Make more sense?? Anyway, the point is, we had a connection. Then when Steve was out there he met some other members of the ward. There, he made another connection. One guy,Jon, went on his mission to the area where my sister lives in Switzerland (which is where I was when Steve was at his interview) and knew some of the same people that I had met while I was out in Switzerland!!! Small world, eh? Well, lets just say that all of these things made us have a very good feeling about Ohio. And, those people he met have been helping us out ever since then.

What a blessing that is to me. I feel like I already have friends there. Like I'll have a little family away from my real family here in Utah. I am so much less nervous to pick up and move since we feel like people are waiting for us there. Thank you to our future Toledo freinds and ward members. You are making this so much easier for us : ) We are excited to join you.

Well.....

It seems the clouds are thinning...

Thanks to all who voted on where they thought we'd end up for medical school.

The Poll is now closed, and votes are tallied up!

There were:

4 votes for the University of Texas in Galveston, Texas

6 votes for the University of West Virginia in Morgantown, West Virginia

16 votes for University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio and

2 votes for Nowhere (I'm going to assume that those 2 votes were from people that just couldn't stand to see us leave... not people that didn't have any faith in Steve's ability to get in....)

So..... we were notified today that Steve has been accepted to Medical School!

We are going to...........................

UT.......................no... that doesn't stand for Utah.

or for University of Texas....................................

HOLY TOLEDO!!!!! WE'RE GOING TO OHIO!!! UNIVERSITY OF TOLEDO!

So, good job to all you who voted correctly (which was the majority of you) and most of all CONGRATULATIONS TO

(future) DOCTOR STEVE TOLLER!!!!

We aren't sure yet when we will move. School starts in August, so that only gives us a few months to get out there, get settled, and get me a job before tuition is due! (Supposedly if I have a full time job out there by the time we pay tuition, we will be considered instate and will get to pay instate tuition... or something like that....) Of course we'll keep everyone up to date as we make decisions and figure things out.
