"Gruezi"-- Greetings from Switzerland!

Me and My Mom in Bonstetten, Switzerland

A view of Bonstetten from my sister Megan's house. The rolling hills, the cute, steep, shingled roofs, the church with the clock on it (yes, that is the one with the ringing bells...) it almost looks like we're in a little European country.... oh wait, WE ARE!

Kyler, showing me how to take the train to Zurich.

Zurich, Switzerland

Playing in the sand at the park.

The day after we got here was Kyler's Birthday. Party Time!

We're expecting to have another "birth" day any day now... Megan's baby is due on Sunday, the 2nd (only two days away), but of course she could go any time!

TAG, I'm it!

What is his name- Steven Michael (also known by some as Beve, Beve-a-choo, and Uncle Beven)

How long have you been together- Got married July of 2005. So…. About 2 and half years.

How long did you date- Well, according to the sealer at our wedding, we were high school sweethearts and I waited for him while he was on his mission…(a little misunderstanding on the sealer’s part). The real truth, is we met in junior high/high school-- he was a friend of my brother and also a member of our stake. We went on one date when I was 16 then started actually “dating” in the summer/fall of 2004.

How old his he- 26

Who eats more- Anyone who knows Steve would probably say that he‘s always eating. Not sure whether that means he eats MORE than me, or if its due to the fact that he eats… extremely…slowly. I LOVE food…. It is a passion of mine. So there might be a tie.

Who said I love you first- Steve did. I believe it was on Christmas of 2004...

Who is taller- Steve, by a good 7 inches.

Who can sing better- He tries so hard….. And I love that he does! But, I definitely have more of the natural talent in the musical department. I've been singing my whole life.

Who is smarter- Lets see-- premed student vs. photographer. Well, I’d go with Steve. Of course, I did get straight A's all through highschool and my 3 years of College.... until I got that one B my last year. But, I don't think that is as much a sign of my "smartness" as it is of my perfectionism.... I've been known to be a perfectionist in many aspects.

Who does the laundry- I usually do the laundry. But, every once in a while, when I am a major slacker, Steve does the laundry because he’s out of clothes.

Who pays the bills- Steve takes care of pretty much all the bills. But I pay off my credit card every month.

Who sleeps on the right side- Standing at the foot of the bed and looking at it, I sleep on the left side. What kind of a question is that?

Who cooks dinner- I love cooking. Steve isn’t home that often for dinner, so sometimes I’ll go make dinner at my parents house for all them just because I like to. And now that we live at Steve’s parents house, I’ll cook sometimes for the whole fam.

Who kissed who first- It seems we kissed each other…… but, Steve probably initiated it.

Who proposed- Well, it went something like this: “So maybe we should get married. What do you think?” “Sure, sounds good.” We pretty much just discussed it and decided that’s what we were going to do.

Who has more friends- Hmmm….. I'm not much of a social butterfly. Steve claims he doesn't have any friends-- he does, he just doesn't have time to actually interact with many people. So, it is hard to say. If you judged according to how often we "hang out" with people, neither of us have many friends. But, we have several good acquaintances and people we claim as our friends.

Who is more sensitive- Definitely me. I cry over the stupidest things....

Who has more siblings? We both have one sister and 3 brothers.

Who wears the pants? I don’t really like being in charge and making decisions…. so probably Steve.

I AM IN SWITZERLAND!!!!!

Things I'll have to get used to......:

1) I will be hanging upside down for the next 4 weeks... (at least that was Steve's joking explanation of why I felt dizzy when I got here to Switzerland. "its because you're hanging upside down...... cuz you'r on the other side of the world." Me, I'm pretty sure it is the 3 hours of sleep I got in a 36 hour time period)

2) My surroundings say it is nearly 6 am, but my body is trying to convince me it is nearly 10 pm...... trying to get over jetlag...... (this was me when we got to France. It was about 9 in the morning there....... my body was sure it was 1 in the morning).

3) The church that is right by the house has bells that ring on the hour........ and every 15 minutes........ and for a long time at both 6 am and 6 pm. It is kind of cool actually, but will take some getting used to.

4)There is no snow here right now (that won't take long to get used to). The view is beautiful, but I get a little distracted by my nephew Kyler's cuteness!

5) Being without Steve for 4 weeks.
6).......that 6 o'clock bell........ yeah, it rings for a long time...............

Under the Weather....

Steve hasn't felt well this week. He has been really achy and weak and progressed into chills, cold sweats, and eventually hit a fever of 101 tonight. Poor guy... I think it might be the flu. I did get the flu shot, but so did he..... and considering that the flu shot is supposedly only 40% effective this year... I'm not relying solely on the power of the shot. By Steve's request, I am keeping my distance. Sadly the above picture is a pretty accurate depiction of about all I've seen of him the past couple days.
I believe that is the arm of his hoodie draped over his face. (No, his arm did not shrivel away due to the recent sickness.... I believe it is inside the rest of the hoodie for some reason.... probably so he could drape the sleeve over his eyes without the arm in it.... what an innovative young man he is.....) Anyway, it is hard to see him sick. It seems we are being hit with so many obstacles in our life right now. But isn't that how it always goes? What is it they say...? "When it rains it pours." Well, life definitely seems to be pouring on us right now... But, it is bound to let up some time. And, who knows...... maybe all this moisture will do us good.

The Toller Life

Okay, so maybe it would be good to give a little insight into what's going on in our lives.
Right now I have my own photography business. Don't be too impressed by the word "business"-- all it takes to get your own business is 50 dollars and a name. I do weddings, families, babies... it's pretty fun. (to see some of the pictures I've done, scroll down to the bottom of the screen).
Steve currently works at Smith's Pharmacy as a Tech and is going to school full time to finish up his PreMed requirements. He'll graduate this Spring with his bachelors in Clinical Labratory Science.
Steve has applied to Medical Schools and we are currently in the "waiting" stage. Just waiting to see if we'll get in anywhere. He applied to close to 30 schools. So far he's interviewed at 3 schools (University of Utah, West Virginia, and Galveston,Texas) and has another interview in March (Toledo, Ohio). A couple weeks ago we got our rejection from the U of Utah. And we got put in the "alternate pool" for Galveston and West Virginia. This past month hasn't exactly been one full of much good news...... But, there's still hope. Odds of getting in from the alternate pools aren't EXTREMELY high, but still a chance I guess. And there's still Ohio. Plus, there's still a chance we'll get more interviews. We still have some schools to hear from. What a stressful time of life.
On Monday, Feb.25 I get to go on a much desired vacation..... SWITZERLAND! I'll be there for 4 weeks. My sister Megan lives out there and is due to have a baby on March 2nd, so my mom and I are going out to help with the baby and with Kyler and with whatever else they need out there. Plus, I'll have to try some delicious pastries and chocolates and see some awesome sights! I am so excited!!! I'll be sure to post stuff to let you all know what you are missing...... ; )

Hmmm..... now what???

Well....I don't usually give in to peer pressure, but I FINALLY decided I'd give this a shot...... unfortunately, this just might be the extent of the excitement on my blog... sorry for any disappointment this might cause.
